The health benefits of massage during pregnancy
Updated: Sep 17
Is massage safe for pregnant women? The short answer is: Yes!
The research that does exist on prenatal massages leads us to some very promising conclusions. Undergoing regular massages during a pregnancy can:
Reduce stress hormones
Relax and loosen your muscles
Increase blood flow
Strengthen the lymphatic system
Help you sleep better
See a doctor before massage if:
You are at high risk of miscarriage
You have a high-risk pregnancy (such as due to pre-eclampsia or high blood pressure)
You have a blood clot, for example DVT
You have abdominal pain or bleeding
