Homemade fruit and nut mix
Isn’t it annoying how you go looking for a fruit and nut mix and every brand manages to put at least one ingredient in that you dislike. Why not make your own at home. It’s as easy as buying a combination of all the ingredients you like, adding them together and storing in an airtight container (old jam jars make the perfect storage).
Here’s my favourite combination…
Serves: 12-14 (30 g per serve)
100 g Almonds
100 g cashews
50 g dried apricots (chopped into quarters)
50 g pumpkin seeds
50 g cranberries
50 g dark choc chips
Mix it all up and put 30 g (a small handful) in a container to keep in your bag in case you’re needing a quick snack on the go. Just remember when you’re buying your ingredients to go for the unsalted, natural nuts!
